Hospice of the Carolina Foothills awarded CMS 5-Star Hospice rankings for Hospice Quality of Care and Patient/Caregiver Experience

Hospice of the Carolina Foothills has been awarded recognition as a 5-Star Hospice for our team in Saluda, North Carolina. Star Ratings recognize the top providers that consistently deliver high quality service to families and caregivers as measured on the CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Hospice Survey.

We are honored that the families we serve were confident in the care and support they experienced with us. Everything we do centers around loving and caring for our patients and our community.

Star ratings are shared publicly on Medicare.gov’s Care Compare, which reports survey metrics such as quality of care, volume of services, and caregiver feedback including the willingness to recommend a hospice.

Star ratings for hospice providers are available publicly at Find Healthcare Providers: Compare Care Near You | Medicare. The CAHPS score comes from the research-backed and standardized survey called the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), part of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, developed the CAHPS program to improve scientific understanding of patient experience and ultimately help advance the delivery of safe, patient-centered care. The CAHPS survey is given to the family members and caregivers of all our patients. Not only is it used by our team to understand how we can improve our care, but it’s also used by Medicare to measure and compare health care providers.
